Industrial and Engineering Technology Careers in the Spotlight Saturday

Central Carolina Machine Tool Program Manager Brent Russell and two students look over work produced in class with one of the college’s CNC machines. Machine Tool will be just one of the programs in the spotlight Saturday at CCTC’s SHOWCASE. CCTC's Showcase 2009 is the place to learn about careers in Industrial and Engineering Technologies and how Central Carolina can train you for those careers. Our IET programs lead to well-paying jobs in high-demand areas. This year's Showcase will be held on Saturday, March 28 from 10 AM until 2 PM.

Showcase will once again be the venue for CCTC's annual Popsicle Bridge Competition, in which high school teams build bridges out of popsicles and then test their strength. And this year, Showcase will proudly host the statewide high school welding competition. The event will also feature a Car Cruise-In, an RC Car and Helicopter demonstration, and an Automotive Dyno Test Competition.

Central Carolina is also offering free tuition for the Fall 2009 semester to a limited number of new students entering an Industrial and Engineering Technology program.  These programs include: Automotive, Machine Tool, Heating and Air Conditioning, Electricity/Electronics, Industrial Maintenance, Natural Resources Management, Environmental Engineering Technology, and Welding. For more information on these full-tuition scholarships, contact Brent Russell at 778-6689.
