Fall semester kicks off with record enrollment

textbooks outside More than 4,000 students will begin classes this week at Central Carolina Technical College.  That's a 28% increase over last fall and by far the largest number of students enrolled in a single semester at the College.

"We are very happy that so many people have recognized the quality and value Central Carolina has to offer," said Dr. Tim Hardee, President of CCTC.

Hardee attributes the growth to several factors including the local economy and a new marketing effort, but said no matter what the reason, the growth could not have been accomplished without the faculty and staff at the College.

"Such a distinction is not by accident. Rather, it's a function of the hard work and dedication of everyone on each of our campuses. We are making a difference in the lives of our students, and I am honored to be working with such great people," Hardee said.

Throughout the summer, faculty and staff members have been preparing for the numbers of students, doing things like adding additional hours to the student services center and watching the enrollment in each course and adding new sections when needed to ensure everyone has a seat in the courses they need.
