CCTC’s HVAC Program Manager Selected to Teach in the Bahamas

SUMTER, SC — Central Carolina Technical College’s academic program manager for Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC/R), Chris Watkins, has been selected to teach a class to HVAC technicians from all over the country at the iConnect Training Center of the Bahamas in San Salvador.

With more than 35 years of HVAC experience, Watkins has been an instructor at Central Carolina Technical College since 2010 and was named the Academic Program Manager for HVAC in 2013. The program was the first of two in the state of South Carolina to achieve national accreditation through HVAC Excellence. 

Watkins holds an associate degree from Central Carolina Technical College, a Certified Master HVAC EducatorCredential from HVAC Excellence and has a professional certification as a building analyst through the Building Performance Institute. He has numerous HVAC industry and manufacturer specialty certifications ranging from refrigeration to solar thermal technology. He is a member of the S.C. Association of HVAC Contractors and a member of the Refrigeration and Service Engineers Society.
